Bacchant
A short film.

This film draws on my decade-long cycle of restricting and binge-eating, adapted from a poem I wrote in the thick of it. The grapefruit ritual became a way to capture both the Apollonian drive for control and the Dionysian impulse towards excess. I framed the binge as the collision of these two dissonant states: rapturous, self-annihilating, and ultimately Bacchanalian. I was fortunate to collaborate closely with my friend, composer Ben Rieke, who wrote and performed the original score.
