Bacchant
A short film.

This film draws from my decade-long cycle of restricting and binge-eating, adapted from a poem I wrote in the thick of it. Beneath the ritual is the force of trauma that fuels both the Apollonian impulse to control and the Dionysian urge to exceed. I wanted to capture the binge as a collision of those forces: ecstatic, destructive, and ultimately Bacchanalian in its emotional scale. I was honored to work closely with composer Ben Rieke, who wrote and performed the original score.
